Several WNBA stars lashed out at Draymond Green for his statements about the requirement of equal pay for female players in that league. The Golden State Warriors power forward invited them to take action instead of speaking, according to information published in the newspaper Marca.
“They are all hurting themselves if they just complain,” Green said. “They are not taking the necessary steps to change the situation and what they are doing is not helping to combat the wage disparity.”
"I'm really tired of seeing them complain about the lack of pay, b/c they're doing themselves a disservice by just complaining."

Women’s basketball star Angel McCoughtry responded to the NBA player stating that Green does not care to know the actions of many for a change in favor of salary parity.
“I think what I’m feeling is a lot of miseducation and ignorance…I do appreciate Draymond coming out and using his platform to talk about it. I would like to take it a step further…and continue the discussions, even if they’re offline.” @Nnemkadi30 on @Money23Green comments. pic.twitter.com/y0nIXubKyi

Likewise, the president of the WNBA Players Association, Nneka Ogwumike, compared the Warriors player’s words with those of Shaquille O’Neal, who said that the women’s league hoops had to be lowered so that there would be more points.
“His words suggest the lack of education and ignorance about our affairs,” Ogwumike said. “We have allies trying to improve things in the league, but I think there is still a lot to do, but it will be resolved with dialogue.”
