MUNICH (GERMANY), Apr 9. (dpa / EP) –
Bayern Munich Chairman of the Board of Directors Karl-Heinz Rummenigge called on the team to stick together amid rumors of a breakup between coach Hansi Flick and sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic.
“We must all pull to the same side, work together in a harmonious, loyal and professional way. That is my clear demand from the sports management. That is what has always distinguished Bayern,” Rummenigge said in statements published this Friday by the newspaper. ‘Bild’.
The remarks come after Bayern lost the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday at home, 2-3 and Salihamidzic confirmed in the preview that the contract for Jérôme Boateng, which ends in June, will not be extended, something that Flick did not like.
“This issue must end. It is superfluous that we have to comment on it permanently, especially since we are in the last quarter of the season, we are first in the Bundesliga with a seven-point advantage, and we also still have a chance to advance in the Champions League through despite our 3-2 against Paris. We need calm and focus on the essentials, “warned Rummenigge.
