President of the International chess Federation (FIDE) Arkady Dvorkovich assured that the suspended candidates tournament for the world chess crown will be finished in 2020, but the date and venue of the second round of the competition, is still unknown.
“The tournament will definitely be finished this year and with the participation of our chief partner – “SIMA-land”. The question of the exact date and venue will be decided soon, as soon as the global situation stabiliziruemost,” — said Dvorkovich in an interview with “Championship” by Gregory Telingater.
The candidates tournament in Yekaterinburg was suspended in connection with the prohibition of the government of the Russian Federation on international flights, which will enter into force on March 27.
