Season in the Swedish hockey League interrupted due to coronavirus. The champion will not be determined

The leadership of the Swedish hockey League (SHL) and the clubs appealed to the Association of hockey of Sweden with the requirement to complete the season due to the coronavirus. Today, this issue was reviewed and the petition granted.

On 12 March, the League hosted the final games of the regular season, March 24, was to start the playoffs. SHL was planning to move a crucial part of the championship at a later date. But all fourteen clubs unanimously signed a petition of petition to finish the season and not to determine the champion. According to the decision, no team will leave the top division.

“We SHL needs to take responsibility for the health of their audience, players, employees, League and teams. This is an extremely sad decision, but in the current difficult conditions it is the only obvious” — quoted the General Director of SHL Michael Marshall League website.
