Power Surf crosses the pond: opens in Portugal and prepares its entry into Spain

Power Surf It is the only training method focused on surfing with certified teachers and its own facilities. It is based on 4 pillars (physical, technical, tactical and psychological) and combines from surfskate to caopeira, through martial arts or movements of other sports such as volleyball. It currently has centers in Brazil, Costa Rica and California; and the news is that just landed in Europe. It does so with a center on the Costa da Caparica (Portugal) and will soon be in Spain, where to date specific courses have been given and classes can be received at City Wave Madrid.

In all sports there are off-court workouts to encourage specific movements; I realized that in surfing they were also necessary and that is where this method was born

    Rodrigo Machado

The founder of the method is Rodrigo Machado, a Brazilian surfer from the Paraná region. He became fond of surfing when his parents bought a beach house and studied sports science. Since then everything has been oriented to surfing, training surfers of the stature of Peterson Rosa. Today he teaches surfing all over the world as the founder of Power Surf.

As a lover of Europe and with extensive experience in the old continent (he has been in the Pukas Surf Eskola), Machado is convinced of the Europe’s potential to train champions: “There have been from Brazilians and I consider that in places like Galicia, the Basque Country, the Canary Islands or Portugal there are more wave consistency than in Brazil.

The landing in Europe of this training method, based on dry technification and automation of movement, is accompanied by the company digital leap, which will be done with Todosurf, a Malaga surf company with more than 15 years of experience in the field of technology, training, forecasts and weather reports.

Together they have already created a community of more than 10,000 people around the method and they have developed the online training for Power Surf, as well as the future training app. All this will serve, among other things, to be able to train at home or to continue training in any center in the world and so that the technicians can do the corresponding monitoring.

To present all of the above, Rodrigo Machado has traveled to Malaga, where he has given free online training in Spanish that has been broadcast around the world and has reached more than 5,000 people. Machado’s arrival in Spain will also serve to search for investors and locations for Power Surf centers.
