“The decision has not been easy, since at this time the uncertainty in the face of the second wave of the pandemic is very great. Given the imminence of government measures and as the event approaches, with movement and the logistics that it entails for the runners, we choose to bring them peace of mind and we consider that the correct thing to do is reprogramming ”, the organizers said in a statement.
The “Half Triathlon” in Mar del Plata was going to have the challenge of completing 1.9 kilometers of swimming, 90 kilometers of cycling and 21 kilometers of running and as a first instance it was going to be played on Sunday 28th March.
But this could not happen because of the weather conditions and a meteorological alert that governed the city was rescheduled for April 11 by recommendations of the Directorate of Civil Defense.
With the passing of days and weeks, positive cases of coronavirus increased in the region, and before the arrival of the second wave of infections and the new restriction measures that were announced by the national, provincial and municipal governments to To reduce the spread of the virus in the country, it was decided to reschedule the usual competition in the city for March 2022.
