The LA Clippers’ injury problems continue as starting point guard Patrick Beverley underwent surgery Friday to repair a fractured fourth metacarpal in his left hand.

The Clippers announced that Beverley had surgery Friday morning and that “there is no immediate schedule” for his return. He will be reevaluated in three to four weeks to allow the injury to heal.

“It’s tough,” Clippers coach Ty Lue said. “Because Pat is a hard worker and he did everything right to get back in the game and back in action. It’s hard to see this happen in his second game back. We’re going to keep the bass strong until he comes.” back … he’s a warrior and will be back as soon as he can. “

Beverley suffered the injury while looking for a rebound in the fourth quarter of Thursday night’s win over the Phoenix Suns. He was later ejected from the game with 7:01 remaining for an excessively and unnecessarily harsh foul on Chris Paul.

Beverley was playing his second game after returning from a 12-game break with a knee injury. He had also missed eight games earlier in the season due to a knee problem.

For the second straight season, the Clippers are dealing with injuries that have disrupted the team’s ability to build chemistry with the same unit.
