The former head of Formula 1 Bernie Ecclestone shared his thoughts about who can be considered the greatest pilot in history. In his opinion, this title is a worthy quadruple world champion Alain Prost.
“The best pilot in history is Alain Prost. He never had support from the team. When the lights went out, he was left alone. He watched the condition of the tires, with the brakes and it was pretty damn fast. I was close to win two more titles. He could become a six-time world champion, but the numbers don’t matter.
I would also mention Nelson Piquet. He was very good in the car. Stirling moss and Juan Manuel Fangio has also done a great job.
As for Hamilton, he is a great pilot. But it’s hard to say that he is better of a pilot. He always had the best car, and he always acted in the best team. He always had the best of everything” — quoted Ecclestone GPFans.
