    The Government made official the extension – for one more week – of the current provisions of the national state of emergency against the coronavirus, which now last until Sunday, April 18. In this sense, compliance with the series of measures will continue according to the classification of provinces according to the risk of contagion of COVID-19: extreme, very high and high.

    The president of the Council of Ministers, Violeta Bermúdez, in a press conference last Wednesday, said that the Executive made the decision to extend the actions so as not to affect the electoral process on Sunday, April 11. “We will not make changes in the classification of provinces and all will maintain their current alert level for one more week “, he pointed.

    He further argued that henceforth the qualification of the level of sanitary risk of the different provinces of the country against COVID-19 will be carried out every three weeks, which will allow greater predictability regarding the measures adopted in the fight against the pandemic.

    Measures

    To remember, among the provisions, published through Supreme Decree 070-2021-PCM in the newspaper El Peruano, it appears that in all the departments that will be exposed in a table, the mandatory nighttime social immobilization will last until 4 in the morning ; at 10:00 pm (for high alert levels) or at 9:00 pm (for very high and extreme alert levels).

    Likewise, it is provided that the days Sundays, private vehicles may not be used in localities with high, very high and extreme alert levels. However, it is worth remembering that this Extension of restrictions applies from Monday, April 12, so the use of cars is valid for Sunday, April 11, the day on which the 2021 General Elections take place..

    In addition, the use of beaches, rivers, lakes or lagoons is authorized in the departments with moderate and high levels, respecting the current sanitary regulations, and it is prohibited in the very high and extreme alert areas.

    -Extreme level-

    For this level, on Sundays there will be strict mandatory social immobilization and the curfew will be 9:00. pm to 4:00 am. The number of provinces included in this alert level was reduced from 27 to 19.

    The compulsory social immobilization night starts at 09:00 pm and ends at 04:00 am the next day. The circulation of private vehicles on Sundays is prohibited, with the exception of those that have the respective vehicle pass issued by the competent authority.

    Regarding the capacity, the public is prohibited from entering casinos and slot machines, gyms, cinemas and performing arts that take place in closed spaces, as well as the activities of clubs and sports associations in the open air.

    Meanwhile, banks and other financial entities have a capacity of 40%, as well as supermarkets, markets, itinerant markets, warehouses, pharmacies, hairdressers and spas, barber shops, facial massages, manicures, makeup and the like by appointment.

    Access to museums, archaeological sites and monuments, cultural centers, galleries, libraries, protected areas, botanical gardens and zoos is 30% maximum, as are restaurants and the like in indoor (ventilated) and outdoor areas.

    The performing arts (music, circus, dance and theater) are also allowed in open spaces up to 20% capacity, as well as in shopping centers, galleries, department stores, general stores and conglomerates.

    The interprovincial land transport will work but with a capacity of 50 to 100% according to the regulation of the Ministry of Transport and Communications. The entrance to the beaches, temples and places of worship is still suspended for the population.

    -Very High Level-

    The constitutional province of Callao continues to have a “very high” health level, along with Metropolitan Lima, which means that there is no longer a total quarantine on Sundays.

    From Monday to Sunday, citizens can transit normally as there is no quarantine. However, the curfew starts at 9 p.m. until 4 a.m. the next day.

    The circulation of private vehicles on Sundays is also prohibited, with the exception of those that have the respective vehicle pass issued by the competent authority.

    Until Sunday, April 18, the circulation of private vehicles is prohibited, unless you have the special pass for essential tasks. However, public transport will work during both dates.

    The interprovincial land transport will work but with a capacity of 50 to 100% according to the regulation of the Ministry of Transport and Communications. Access to the beaches is still suspended for the population of both cities.

    Meanwhile, casinos and slot machines, gyms, cinemas and performing arts (closed spaces); as well as in temples and places of worship the capacity is up to 20% of the total.

    Very high level until April 18.

    -High level-

    The departments of Lambayeque and Huánuco continue in their entirety at this level. Interprovincial transportation is free.

    The curfew in the provinces of both regions it applies from 10:00 pm to 04:00 am the next day. Likewise, the circulation of private vehicles on Sundays is prohibited, with the exception of those that have the respective vehicle pass issued by the competent authority.

    Regarding the capacity, it is up to 60% in banks and other financial entities; stores supplying basic necessities, supermarkets, markets, itinerant markets, warehouses and pharmacies; and in restaurants and the like in outdoor areas.

    While in restaurants and related in internal areas; libraries, museums, archaeological monuments, cultural centers and galleries, protected areas, botanical and zoological gardens; and performing arts in open spaces is up to 50% of the total.

    In shopping centers, galleries, department stores, general stores and conglomerates; and in activities of clubs and sports associations in the open air the capacity is up to 40% of the total.

    Finally, the allowed capacity is up to 30% in casinos and slot machines, gyms, cinemas and performing arts (closed spaces); and in temples and places of worship.
