Lu Guang is a famous photographer originally from China. He takes off the terrible realities of life in different cities and is a three-time winner of the prestigious international competition for photojournalists, called World Press Photo.
The man disappeared during a trip to Xinjiang, the province that is under the strong control of the authorities. This was reported by Xu Xiaoli, his wife Lou.
23 October photographer arrived in Urumqi, capital of Xinjiang, to visit the exhibition. November 5, he had to fly to the city of Sichuan, located in the South of the country. On this day, communication with them was gone.
It turned out that the man was detained by security service of China. Xu Xiaoli were shocked by the news. She doesn’t understand that so angered the authorities. Surely, these are the images of her husband, which gave the world the terrible truth. They depict the ecological situation of the Chinese provinces.
The woman said that her husband had not been in contact for over three weeks. She was never informed about the arrest. She has repeatedly appealed for help to the police in Xinjiang, but all to no avail. She could only hope that Lou will return home healthy and unharmed.
