An output of glyphosate under 5 years of age.
(Relaxnews) – François de Rugy, minister of State for the ecological transition, and Didier Guillaume, minister of Agriculture and Food, spoke on the plan of output of glyphosate, regarded as a potential carcinogen by WHO since 2015.
As a reminder, the glyphosate is the herbicide most used in the world. It is, however, a herbicide very bad for the wildlife and the flora. It is considered as a potential carcinogen by WHO since 2015.
In November 2017, while each european country had to decide on the renewal of the use of glyphosate, France had voted in the negative.
On the occasion of their hearing, the ministers recalled the commitment of the government to get out of here in three years, the glyphosate in relation to the main uses, within five years for all uses. And this in three years. This means that the government can bring new conditions of glyphosate use to the main uses only until December 31, 2020.
The government also has the mandate to propose alternatives to this product. This output of glyphosate is part of a broader policy of reducing the use of chemicals in the agricultural industry. Thus, it is expected an increase of the differentiated taxation by the dangerousness of the product.
