Known for its openly homophobic stance Director Nikita Mikhalkov recently again raised a painful subject.
Mikhalkov about the orientation and yourself
He believes it is unnatural: that men should never involve something in another man. However, if his grandson comes in and says “father, I’m gay”, Mikhalkov will not deny him dinner.
“To change it? Pointless. Understand, I’m not talking about the criminal code say. I mean, not near me. For me, say, gay marriage is the destruction of mankind. If a person lives in it, and it suits him – for God’s sake. But if he tries to implement it around – I’m against it, I don’t want this,” he said in an interview.
He remembered about his films, and about the negative attitude of society towards him. Nikita Mikhalkov did not think that shot was a bad tape, but it takes the point of view of others who believe that he could put the “g*UPE, bad picture.”
Totally disagree with the negative criticism of his latest directorial work is epic in scale paintings, “Burnt by the sun 2”, worth 80 million dollars, and the subsequent failure at the box office with box office ten times less the money spent.
As you know, in March 1999, speaking at the Moscow House of cinema, the Director pelted with eggs. In response, he asked security to “twist bully”, then ran off the stage and hit the detainee with a boot to the head. Still haven’t forgotten about it, moreover – I am sure that would have done now as well:
“And unless I think about dignity, when in front of your eyes, so to speak, a red blur of rage? Then I remembered the words of my mother: “never do anything that you want to do after you’ve been hurt, pause – would be a better solution”. Then I didn’t think about it. But I do realize that if tomorrow it would be again – I would have done the same thing,” commented the Director.
Watch: interview with Mikhalkov
