Since 1991 the Borshchiv Museum conducts research of Trypillian culture. Recently it became known that Ukrainian scientists during studies of the Verteba cave, located in the Borshchiv district, Ternopil region, has found an unusual hole. It is assumed that they were used for rituals. It is reported 20 minutes.
So archaeologist Michael Sochacki told about the latest research in the cave Verteba. It Trypillians lived 4 thousand years ago. According to the scientist in the pit and dumped the ceremonial figurines, utensils and trinkets.
“I found a ritual pit, which dumped fashioned clay figurines of animals, people, dishes, tools, amulets. In time a ritual of those things people were thrown into such pits. There are well-preserved articles of bone and horn hoes and daggers,” – said the researcher.
Among the current finds an artificial continuation of the cave. It is raw, dark and uncomfortable. Therefore, it is equipped with furnaces, which are kept warm.
But there is the fact that archaeologists are still unknown: why graves Trypillians still not managed to find. It argued that this is due to their funeral ceremony.
“Previously, the artifacts we saw remnants of people. No graves Trypillians. It’s hard to explain. Perhaps this was the funeral ceremony. But in the Verteba cave managed to find anthropological material. These residues are key for the study of Trypillya culture. I was invited to the expedition of anthropologists and geneticists from different scientific centers of the world. I want to establish the age of these people, their health, nutrition and disease. Modern science gives you the opportunity to know the genetic history. That is, who were the ancestors of the Trypillians,” says Sochacki.
Many specific human figurines fashioned from clay. It is mostly women, the male figurines almost never find. They are a symbol of fertility and the mother. There are figures of domestic and wild animals.
Note Verteba cave is the only in Ukraine Museum-cave, inside of which there are dozens of archaeological excavations of ancient Tripoli culture.
Unique in its kind, Verteba is not only the guardian of the priceless artifacts that are older than thousands of years, but is one of the largest caves in Europe. The total length of underground tunnels and halls of more than 8 kilometers.
We will remind, the territorial Cucuteni-Trypillian culture is commonly attributed to the settled population of the land of Romania, through Moldova and almost to the Kiev, which lived here from about 5500 to 2500 BC
As reported by the portal “Znayu” in the river Thames by British archaeologists caught the skeleton of a man, whose age, presumably, made 500 years.
Also “Znayu” wrote, about ancient civilizations, the disappearance of which is difficult to explain.
