Marc Jacobs reissues his collection of “Grunge” in 1993 through a special capsule.
Marc Jacobs announces the launch of a capsule “Redux Grunge Collection 1993/2018” for the 25th anniversary of his collection of “Grunge”, released in spring 1993 by the american brand Perry Ellis.
The capsule had been the creator being fired from the company after suffering negative reviews. This led him to launch his own brand and success. Surrender to the taste of the day, the capsule will be launched on November 15.
An unparalleled collection, which has changed the face of the ready-to-wear for women
“The collection ‘Grunge’ represents the first time in my professional career where I have displayed an unwavering determination in order for my ideas to come to life on the podium, without any creative compromises,” says Jacob in a press release. “Twenty-six required keys are here re-created from the feet to the head. Ready-to-wear, jewelry, shoes and accessories resume print, textiles and embroideries of origin”.
It would seem that the quarrels between Jacobs and Perry Ellis are ancient history, since the trademark has praised Jacobs to have revisited “a collection unprecedented, which has changed the face of the ready-to-wear for women”.
The collection benefits from a countryside contemporary tailored for a new audience. They include the tops, Gigi Hadid, and Dree Hemingway.
Jacobs is a nostalgic. This year, he has recruited Lila Grace Moss, the daughter of Kate Moss, for his campaign Marc Jacobs Beauty. On this occasion, he said : “It was a little unreal to see Kate and Lila in the same studio. It reminded me of my encounter with Kate when she was 18 years old. I had chosen for the campaign of the collection spring-summer 1993 Grunge for Perry Ellis.”
