“I’m not going to live to old age. What’s next – I don’t care. When you’re seventy it’s boring”, so thought the leader of the cult band Queen, Freddie mercury, the man who unwittingly altering itself, affect the lives of others. The musician has passed away on 24 November 1991, almost era has passed since then, as the whole world know: the favorite of millions suffering from AIDS, he is long.
Freddie mercury: Queen – not a group, it’s a lifestyle
When Freddie came to the Studio in Wembley to start working on the video for the single “I am Going Slightly Mad”, the crew was shocked – from muscular, handsome nothing left, resembled a Ghost, clothes hung, his face covered with spots.
Former hero of the party and lover of alcohol accidentally let slip: he could live for nine months. But the word “AIDS” out loud nobody said, suggested “the problem with the knee.” The musicians knew everything and agreed not to talk to the fans while their leader himself does not want to.
The shooting lasted three days. And although the ailments Freddie more than anything not officially stated, some of those present knew that it was not in the knee:
“Many of my friends died of AIDS. Shortly before his death, they looked very similar, it was painful to watch. This whole knee was sewn with white thread. In one scene, he rose to his knees. You can’t do with a bum knee,” – recalled the witnesses.
Five years Freddie lived with the thought that I will die soon. Stated this publicly, he only the day before death. Making sure he had AIDS, became very cautious and I share this terrible secret with some close friends.
“It was a personal matter, Freddie. Instinctively we knew something was happening, but this is not mentioned. He lived with this for a very long time and told us when he was only a few months,” said Brian, his peers, and may and Taylor broke the silence, speaking in a morning television program:
“Freddie decided to speak about his illness. It would be very easy to change post-mortem diagnosis of pneumonia, and Freddy knew it. But he said, “I have to do this. There’s nothing to be ashamed of, there’s no shame.”
In General, mercury was a complex person and could confound even the people close to him, like a diamond with many facets. Offstage he could be the same drive as on the stage, but could be shy and quiet.
These two States formed the personality. Close, but sometimes too emotional. Six days after the publication of “Bohemian Rhapsody” the single, who immortalized the place in the field of rock music, rocketed to the highest stage of popularity. The record was released in record time.
Even teetering on the brink of life and death, mercury continued to remain the greatest showman. A month before death came one of the strongest songs – “The Show Must Go On”, words which, asking about the meaning of life, was full of hope.
Friends admired the tenacity with which Freddie struggled with the disease. But opinions about his behavior was ambiguous. Some believed that he was scared, hiding the diagnosis, he considered it something of a shame as the fact that he was gay.
“Given the rumors, walking in the press the last two weeks, I want to confirm: my blood work test for HIV was positive. I have AIDS. I thought it necessary to keep this information secret in order to preserve the tranquility of family and friends. However, it is time to tell the truth to my friends and fans around the world. I hope everyone will join the fight against this terrible disease, ” he said, and just a day at 19:00 the legendary actor died. Before his death, the singer even wrote a script of my own funeral.
At the tomb of genius are still visible epitaph: “Freddie mercury. The one who loved life. The one who sang the song.” The last verse of “Mother love”sang Brian may. In this form it is included in the album “Made in Heaven” of the group Queen, released in 1995.
They buried him according to the rites of Zoroastrianism, a religion which was professed by his parents. Bequest Freddy, only the love of his life, Mary Austin knows where his grave is.
