Fantastic Animals 2 : the identity of Belief brought into doubt
2. Professor McGonagall
As announced in the rumor, Professor McGonagall made two short appearances in the film : the first in a course of Albus Dumbledore, the second in a flashback scene where we find Norbert and Leta to Pourdlard. The action of the Fantastic beasts takes place in 1927… but Minerva McGonagall is supposed to be born until 1935 and have built Hogwarts in 1956 according to his biography on Pottermore, the official site dedicated to the world of Harry Potter. Then this “Professor McGonagall” could be another person of his / her family ? It is known that Minerva is the eldest daughter, has no sister and that his mother Isobel had at the age of 18 years, which means she was only 10 years old during the action of the film. In short, this is very weird !

3. The strange case of Leta
In the film, we learn that Leta (Zoe Kravitz) is responsible for the death of his brother, Corvus, that it has traded in a shipwreck with another baby. If we are to believe the family tree shown in the feature-length film, Leta was the last survivor of the line of the Lestrange. So, how can we find Rodolphus Lestrange and his wife Bellatrix in the Harry Potter novels ? Inconsistency or proof that Leta is, in reality, may not be dead ? Has your bets !
Fantastic Animals 2 : Leta is she still alive ?
4. The Mirror of the Riséd
In Harry Potter, readers and fans of the movies have been able to discover the Mirror of the Riséd supposed to show the wizard who fixed his deepest desire. This mirror also makes an appearance in Fantastic beasts 2… but it does not work the same way. In fact, while he looks in the mirror, Dumbledore (Jude Law) sees young in the company of Gellert Grindelwald (his former friend and lover) in the process of making a covenant of blood. Something completely illogical when we think of what has been explained in the Harry Potter books. Even more than in 2007, J. K. Rowling had explained that, when he looks in the mirror, Dumbledore does not see Grindelwald, but its close.
Fantastic Animals 2 : the mirror of the Riséd works differently in the film
5. Jacob and his memories
At the end of the Fantastic Animals, the muggle Jacob (Dan Fogler) was under the spell of amnesia (aka “Moat”) to erase all his memories related to magic. Except that from the beginning of the second film, the character remembers everything that happened in New York. Explanation : the spell does not erase the bad memories and since it has none, Jacob remembers everything. Except that this “rule” contradicts everything that has been explained in the Harry Potter books. In the novels, the lot is notably used by Gilderoy Lockhart, or even Hermione.

6. Accio and the niffleur
In the first film, Norbert (Eddie Redmayne) did not use the spell “Accio” (spell of attraction to attract an object toward oneself) to capture the fantastic animals that had fled. J. K. Rowling had subsequently explained that this spell was not working only for inanimate objects. Except that in Fantastic beasts 2, Norbert uses indeed “Accio” to bring it to its niffleur to him.
