32 – year-old man named Kevin Booth for the past 7 years living on the street in Sumner, Washington. One day, as often happens, he came to the building of a food Foundation with the aim to find some bread that was left by the volunteers. He stumbled upon a paper bag from the supermarket. The man decided to open it, because the thought that there are products. Its contents shocked the man – it was a huge amount of money bills 20 and $ 100. As it turned out, there were 17 thousand dollars.
Kevin first, do not believe the discovery. He decided to smell the bills to make sure that they are real. The man clearly knew that the money belongs not to him, and he didn’t know what to do with them. Without thinking, he decided to bring them to a charity. The homeless man was not going to assign them yourself.
Many were shocked by his decision. Because the finding would to help him start a new life. Perhaps the universe gave it to him. The Bank employee also thought that the package is food. When she opened it, I realized that there are 17 thousand dollars.
Booth shares his impressions:
“There are many people who silently took the money and left. I’m just not that kind of person”.
The police confiscated the contents of the package and are investigating. Within 3 months after the money was never addressed. Who left them – is also unknown. Surveillance cameras did not help to understand who is the owner. So the money went to charity, and would like Kevin. The Fund is going to spend the amount for the completion of the building to receive even more homeless.
A Bag of Cash
Being homeless shouldn’t blur the line between right and wrong.
It certainly didn’t for Kevin Booth.
One morning not long ago, he had a decision to make. And it was tough. But Kevin did the right thing, the honorable thing, and for that he is my Hero.

The man thanked him for the honesty. Without a gift he left. He presented a certificate and a special card that gives him the right to take meals in the Fund. Staff also wanted to ensure that the homeless lived in a tent in the woods in the winter, and offered him shelter. But he refused. Now they are looking for warm clothes.
