Gestures to control video and some non-obvious settings.
1. Video rewind
Rewind rollers, finger on the strip at the bottom of the timeline, tedious and not always convenient. Double-tap the right side of the screen to scroll through the video at ten seconds forward, the left — back. It’s easier and more accurate, especially in long videos.
2. Setting rewind
Tap your avatar and go to “Settings” to open the settings YouTube. From there select “General” → “Fast double tapping” and specify how many seconds should skip gesture, which is described in the previous paragraph.
3. Disable AutoPlay
When one video ends, YouTube after a small pause gives you a second. Sometimes it’s annoying. Click on the switch “auto play” section “Next” and the video ends with a new recording will not run.
4. Deleting search queries
If looking for something, I wouldn’t want anyone to show — click on the search icon at the top. In the drop-down list, select and hold the unnecessary request and you will be asked to remove it.
5. Pause the recording history
YouTube remembers what words you are searching for and what videos are watching. If you want to disable, click “Library” → “History” → elipsis → “Settings history” and then select the corresponding boxes in the settings.
6. Search for related videos
When you see the movie and want to switch to something else like this, swipe up from the bottom, and YouTube will show you a dashboard with similar content.
7. Folding video
Swipe your finger across the roller from the top down, and the video will roll on the bottom panel. You can explore other channels and simultaneously watch the current video. If you want to close it, click on the x on the toolbar or swipe.
8. Pass video
Swiping your finger from left to right or right to left, you can navigate to the next or previous in the queue for the roller. The same thing happens when you click on the arrows.
9. Sorting videos to “Watch later”
Open the “Library” → “Watch later” and click “Reorder”. Select the ranking by date added and you will be able to weed out the less important and to see, finally, the clips added here a long time ago, but forgot about them.
10. Manage notifications
Sometimes YouTube is too annoying with their notifications: daily news broadcast fresh, new commentary. Fortunately, it is easy to configure. Click on your avatar and select “Settings” → “Notifications”. Here you can disable unwanted pop-up messages or set the time when YouTube will not show them (“Quiet hours”).
If you have a little of the standard functions of the application, install it modification — YouTube Vanced. Existing chips will be added background music, and the ability to adjust the screen brightness and volume by swiping your finger across the left and right sides of the screen.
